Who we are
The Hotels Association of Sri Lanka (THASL) is the apex representative body of Sri Lanka’s hotel and hospitality industry, serving as the collective voice of the country’s diverse and dynamic hotel sector.
With a membership of approximately 250+ hotels and resorts located across Sri Lanka, THASL represents a broad spectrum of the hospitality industry. Its membership encompasses internationally renowned hotel brands, leading Sri Lankan hotel groups and chains, independent and privately owned properties, proprietorships, and stand-alone establishments, ranging from luxury five-star city hotels in Colombo to properties across all recognised star categories, including high-end boutique hotels and resorts.
For over six decades, THASL has played a pivotal role in representing the interests of the hotel industry and contributing to the development of Sri Lanka as a leading tourism destination. The Association provides a unified platform through which members can engage on matters affecting the industry, share knowledge and expertise, address common challenges, and collectively advocate for a stronger and more enabling business environment.
THASL maintains close engagement with Government institutions, tourism authorities, regulatory bodies, industry stakeholders, and other national and international organisations, representing the interests and perspectives of the hotel sector in policy discussions and industry development initiatives.
As the voice of the hotel industry, THASL is committed to promoting sustainable tourism development, industry competitiveness, investment, innovation, professional excellence, and responsible hospitality practices. Through advocacy, collaboration, industry representation, and strategic partnerships, the Association works to create an environment in which Sri Lanka’s hotel and hospitality sector can grow sustainably and continue to contribute meaningfully to the country’s economy.
